Consequences of inaction - Potential ramifications of delaying proposed nutrient source reductions in New Zealand rivers, lakes and estuaries

This report summarises existing literature on the consequences of delaying reductions to nutrient inputs on rivers, estuaries and lakes. It describes how delaying reductions in nutrient inputs will make recovery of rivers, lakes and estuaries slower and more difficult. The natural characteristics of rivers, estuaries and lakes will affect the severity of consequences of inaction and the time it will take to recover.
