About the consultation

The Government is consulting on its proposal to add additional chemicals to those banned or restricted under New Zealand legislation. This is to comply with our obligations under the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants and the Rotterdam Convention on the Prior Informed Consent Procedure for Certain Hazardous Chemicals and Pesticides in International Trade. The chemicals are either banned or restrictions under the two conventions.
