Proposed National Policy Statement on Urban Development: Summary of submissions

Between 21 August and 10 October 2019, the Government consulted on national direction under the Resource Management Act 1991 to enable urban growth, address unnecessary regulatory constraints and encourage quality urban environments. The proposal, including draft objectives and policies, was presented in the discussion document linked below. The proposal included draft objectives and policies in four key areas: future development strategies, making room for growth, evidence for decision-making and processes for engaging on urban planning.
