The Government sought feedback on an exposure Draft of the Exclusive Economic Zone and Continental Shelf (Environmental Effects—Discharge and Dumping) Regulations 2014 [PDF, 2 MB]. The exposure draft process is designed to give interested parties an indication of what the new regulations are likely to look like, and to provide an opportunity to comment on the drafting of them before they are finalised.
The supporting information provided explains the exposure draft process, details the proposals, and how to make a submission.
This information has been provided in addition to the Government’s earlier consultation in August 2013 - Activity Classifications Under the EEZ Act. Information about the August 2013 proposals are available on the EEZ Act questions and answers page.
The submission period closed at 5.00pm Wednesday 19 March 2014.
More information will be available once submissions have been considered and final decisions have been made.
