This guide is for organisations who wish to voluntarily monitor and report greenhouse gas emissions for their New Zealand operations. It encourages best practice in greenhouse gas monitoring and reporting and supports voluntary greenhouse gas reporting initiatives. It endorses the referenced reporting frameworks and provides information (emission factors and methods) to enable organisations to apply them. This 2007 version of the guidance will be updated annually to maintain consistency with international best practice and the New Zealand government’s national greenhouse gas inventory reporting.
The emission factors and methods contained within the guidance are provided for emission sources deemed common for commercial organisations; however, the guidance is also applicable to industrial organisations who wish to report on the same emission sources.
