Text description of figure

The figure shows a bar graph of annual rainfall against time, spanning the period of 1878-2004, except for a gap in the record 1915-1917. The height of the bar indicates the amount of rainfall as a percentage of the 1971-2000 normal. The rainfall varies a lot from year to year, ranging between about 70% and 120% of normal. A smooth curve, indicates a slight increasing trend in precipitation over the period.
