On 2 July 2015, the Ministry opened a consultation with parties affected by proposed updates to the New Zealand Emissions Trading Scheme (NZ ETS) regulations.
The consultation period closed at 5.00 pm on 15 July 2015.
Following consideration of submissions, the Minister for Climate Change Issues approved drafting of the amendment regulations. Cabinet has since approved the following set of amendment regulations. They cover the five technical updates consulted upon and the annual adjustment to the Climate Change (Synthetic Greenhouse Gas Levies) Regulations 2013.
Officials will follow-up (beyond these amendment regulations) with some submitters who provided feedback on general waste unique emissions factors issues.
