AgRecovery: rural and agri-sector ‘one-stop shop’ waste solution

This WMF-funded project runs event-based ‘one-stop-shop’ collection services for farmers, growers and rural communities to drop off unwanted agrichemicals, their containers and farm plastics.AgRecovery Chair Adrienne Wilcock supervises the shredding of agri-chemical drums, returned for recycling.

It is an example of an industry-led product stewardship scheme. The onus is placed back on the brand manufacturers to provide an end-of-life solution and reduce the pressure on individual consumers.

AgRecovery also provides data and market insights, collected during the scheme, to the agrichemical brand owners themselves - further increasing efficiency and future waste minimisation.
