This Regulatory Impact Statement has been prepared by the Ministry for the Environment. It provides an analysis of options for regulating certain discharges and dumping activities that are being transferred from the Maritime Transport Act 1991 to the Exclusive Economic Zone and Continental Shelf (Environmental Effects) Act 2012, and recommends the introduction of a non-notified discretionary activity classification to the EEZ Act via the introduction of a Supplementary Order Paper during the Committee of the Whole House stage of the Marine Legislation Bill.
