Regulatory Impact Statement Options to streamline Resource Management Act and Reserve Act processes for Electricity Network Recovery under the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Act 2011

This regulatory impact statement has been prepared by the Ministry for the Environment and the Department of Conservation. It provides an analysis of options to streamline the approval of retrospective applications for resource consent under the Resource Management Act 1991 by Orion New Zealand Limited for works undertaken to restore and support security of electricity supply following the Canterbury Earthquake of 22 February 2011. It also provides an analysis of options under the Reserves Act 1977 (Reserves Act) for long-term use of an electricity substation at Rawhiti Domain Reserve, and for the use of temporary generators on reserves.
