Essential Freshwater Regional Sector Group

Regional councils are vital partners in improving freshwater quality because of their links to local communities and their statutory role.

About the group

The Regional Sector Water sub-group brings the voice and views of regional councils to the Essential Freshwater Work Programme.

The group provides:

  • governance of engagement between regional councils and the Ministry on the Essential Freshwater Work Programme
  • advice on relevant areas
  • a forum for sharing information.
