Waste
Packaging Accord
- How does the Packaging Accord actually works. How is the glass subsidy working? Is it working? How much is the subsidy?
Product stewardship
- What is happening with electronic waste? Are there any reputable companies around? People are stockpiling old computers as no-one will take them (only the recent models). Product stewardship needs to be compulsory. What is the time frame for product stewardship legislation?
Waste minimisation
- Plastic packaging waste is a problem. What are we doing to reduce plastic packaging to start with? MFE should not just focus on recycling. It needs to work with industry to reduce the use of plastic packaging. Product stewardship will solve this.
General
- Govt 3 needs to be taken wider than central government.
- People are seeking guidance from MFE on what paper they should buy. MFE should set up syndicated procurement for paper to drive costs down.
- There needs to be legislation for farm plastics. When will legislation be put in place?
