Education and Advisory Services Fund

The purpose of the RMA Education and Advisory Fund (“The Fund”) is to increase community-based advice, educational opportunities and public information about environmental legislation, particularly the RMA.  We are hoping to improve public understanding of, and participation in, RMA processes.

The Ministry works closely with service providers, supplying publications including “An Everyday Guide to the RMA”.  The existing RMAINFO service provided by the Ministry complements services delivered through the RMA Education and Advisory Services Fund.

Applications for funding have been processed for this financial year (2008/2009) and the fund is supporting three organisations providing free resource management advice to the community:

Further applications are welcomed from organisations to deliver education and advisory services that will enhance public understanding of environmental legislation.  For example, by providing community workshops on topical resource management issues.

Applications are carefully assessed to ensure services provided are to a high standard and are value for money.  Criteria are set out in the initial Call for Applications document below. No form is required so long as the application includes all the required information.
