The next Community Environment Fund (CEF) round will be targeted to support the operational costs of existing environment centres only.
This round will provide funding to existing environment centres that have received Ministry for the Environment funding in the past: all existing and previously funded environment centres, who believe they are eligible for funding, are invited to phone the Ministry on 0800 499 700. For more information, please refer to the eligibility criteria for this environment centre round.
If your organisation is an environment centre that has not received funding from the Ministry in the past but meet the remainder of the eligibility criteria and you wish to discuss potential future funding, please email the Ministry before 5pm, Tuesday 10 April.
The following information relates to non-targeted CEF funding rounds only.
The Ministry wants to work with you to help make a positive difference to the environment.
The Community Environment Fund (CEF) provides funding so New Zealanders are empowered to take environmental action. It also ensures that:
Each year there will be two opportunities/funding rounds to submit an application to the fund. The second funding round closed on 5 September 2011. The third funding round is a minor round targeting operational costs for environment centres (refer to the above latest updates section for more information). The next major funding round is expected to open in mid-2012.
All applications are assessed against the CEF eligibility criteria, the Ministry’s key priorities for the financial year, funding principles, and their merit compared with other applications. The Ministry’s Statement of Intent has further information about our key priorities.
