RMA requirements

Local authorities are required under section 35(5)(i) to keep a summary of all written complaints received concerning alleged breaches of the RMA, and information on how each complaint was dealt with.

2014/15

  • 140,727 excessive noise complaints about alleged breaches of the RMA were recorded by local authorities.
  • 28,791 other complaints about alleged breaches of the RMA were recorded by local authorities.
