Role of the regulations
The Resource Management (Infringement Offences) Regulations 1999 sets out the fees and forms for infringement offences under the Resource Management Act 1991.
Schedule 1 of the regulations sets out the sections of the RMA that, when contravened, give rise to an infringement offence, and the infringement fee for the offence. The infringement fees range from $300 to $1,000 depending on the offence under the RMA.
Schedules 2 and 3 set out the prescribed forms for enforcement authorities to use when issuing infringement notices and reminders. The forms include a summary of rights for parties that have been served an infringement notice.
