Water Measurement and Reporting Quality Assurance Program

A quality assurance program has been developed to give permit holders greater certainty that service providers will deliver equipment and services that comply with the Resource Management (Measurement and Reporting of Water Takes) Regulations 2010.

The program is an industry-led initiative with funding from the Ministry for the Environment. The quality assurance program includes:

  • a non-statutory guideline to guide both permit holders and service providers through the decision process and considerations for successful full pipe (water meter) and open channel installation, verification and data reporting
  • a national register of approved suppliers of installation, verification and data hosting services
  • NZQA-approved training courses for installers and verifiers.
