Minister's decision letter to councils - 11 March 2008

I am writing, in accordance with section 52(3)(b) of the Resource Management Act 1991, to advise you of my decision on the recommendations of the Board of Inquiry, on the proposed National Policy Statement on Electricity Transmission. The Board submitted its report to me in November 2007. I have enclosed a copy of the Board’s report, and recommendations, for your information.

I have considered the Board’s report and have decided to accept its recommended revised National Policy Statement, with a small number of editorial changes. The National Policy Statement on Electricity Transmission 2008 has been approved by the Governor-General and was published in the New Zealand Gazette on Thursday 13 March 2008. I have enclosed two copies for your attention.

The Ministry for the Environment are preparing non-statutory guidance to assist decision-makers in the implementation of the National Policy Statement.

Minister's decision letter to submitters - 11 March 2008

The Board submitted its report to me in November 2007. I have enclosed a copy of the Board’s report, and recommendations, for your information.

I have considered the Board’s report and have decided to accept its recommended revised National Policy Statement, with a small number of editorial changes.
