Statement of submission by the Minister for the Environment
Pursuant to sections 96 and 141A(4)(c) of the Resource Management Act 1991 I wish to make the following submission on behalf of the Crown on an application from Meridian Energy Limited for resource consent to establish, operate and maintain a windfarm known as the ‘Central Wind Windfarm’.

The Crown supports the proposal for the reasons given in Appendix One.

The decision I wish the Council to make is:
That the consent authority grant the resource consent sought by the applicant subject to conditions being imposed that address the potential adverse effects on adjacent public conservation land and on indigenous species and their habitats.
I wish to be heard in support of my submission.
