STOP 6: 1123 WAOTU ROAD - Stuart Ranger Property.
Parties present: Stephen McAdams, Joan Forret, Colin and Angela Rose, Christine Baldwin, Julie Burwell, Stuart Ranger, Don Riley, Andrew Ranger, K and J Meredith.
Notes: Stuart Ranger points out bales set out over the property depicting where the towers would be situated and the 12 metre bases, and shows where the towers and line would run through the valley. Towers 343, 344, 345 and 346 would be on his property and Tower 347 in the neighbouring property, but still accessed via his property. He shows the height of the proposed tower (61 metres) by a helium balloon on 61 metres of string.
He points out an airstrip and where planes take off from the western end to the east. Seven farms use this airstrip, and also private planes. He points out the track that would be used for construction of the line, which would affect the farming operation. He points out the existing corridor, and where the proposed line would veer into greenfields areas, also shade trees that would have to be removed, and a water tank and system and two barns, which would have to be relocated. Don Riley points out trees, which would have to be removed, and an airstrip and woolshed on his property.
