STOP 18: ARAPUNI ROAD (by old Arapuni garage)

Parties present: Susan Brennan, Stuart Ranger, Sharon Robinson, Louise Upston, Christina Baldwin.

Notes: Stephen McAdams points out a block of land that Transpower owns, and points out where proposed Towers 320 and 321 would be situated. Advises the span here is 746 metres, and that the tower heights are between 58 and 62 metres high. He shows where Towers 315, 316, 317, 318, 319, 320, 321, and 322 would be situated, and where the line would run. Susan Brennan points to some forestry, which would need to be removed, and Stephen McAdams advises that 100 metres (4 hectares) of pine trees would go. He also points to a shelterbelt, which can be maintained with height limitations. Louise Upston points out where their properties are, which will be visually impacted. Christine Baldwin points out the valley, which is a tourist attraction.
