A National Protocol for State of the Environment Groundwater Sampling in New Zealand

This document provides a step-by-step protocol for the collection of groundwater samples in New Zealand. The protocol applies to state of the environment monitoring primarily, although the instructions may be relevant to other types of monitoring also (read the Introduction section of the protocol for further guidance on applicability). The protocol is a best practice tool rather than a mandatory requirement.

Many of the sampling procedures outlined in the protocol have been investigated in a series of field trials. These field trials have been documented and can be made available upon request (see contact details below).
