This figure describes an example of a sampling strategy. Sample is taken on Wednesday between 11am and 2pm and sent away for analysis. The result is received on Thursday which indicates an entrococci level of greater than 280/100 ml. The beach water is resampled on Thursday before 2pm and sent away for analysis. On Friday results indicate the 2nd sample exceeds 280/100 ml, the communication strategy is implemented and the public are informed.
