1. Who will need to use these Guidelines (Do I need to worry about them)?
The new Guidelines serve the same purpose as previous Guidelines. They are intended to provide Government and the general community - particularly catchment/water managers, regulators, industry, consultants and community groups - with a sound set of tools for assessing and managing ambient water quality. If any stakeholder has a concern about the quality of water in a natural or semi-natural water body, the Guidelines should be consulted.
