For compact fluorescent lamps.

  1. Import and manufacture: overseas manufacture of lamps and luminaires, importer/distributor and NZ manufacture of luminaires.

Life cycle pathways from overseas manufacture of lamps and luminaires to importer/distributor to retail or direct to retail.

  1. Distribution and sale: developers, retail, electrical wholesalers and internet sales.

Life cycle pathway largely from retail to householder/DIYer or small commercial.

  1. Installation: householder/DIYer, small commercial, electrical contractors, maintenance contractors and in-house electricians.

From householder/DIYer the life cycle pathway is predominantly to use in residential buildings.

  1. Use: residential buildings, small commercial, specialist lighting plus the following key account customers; retail buildings, office buildings, public buildings, industrial buildings and public lighting.

De-installation from residential buildings is largely by the householder.

  1. De-installation: householders, small commercial, demolition contractors, electrical contractors, maintenance contractors and in-house electricians.

Following de-installation, the life cycle pathway from the householder is largely to landfill with a small pathway to recycling public.

  1. End-of-life: landfill, recycling public, recycling commercial.
