Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Equipment Good Practice Guidelines for Environmental Sustainability: Review of current practice in Govt3 agencies
In January 2007, the Ministry for the Environment commissioned a survey of the 47 central government Govt3 agencies. The survey focused on their existing practices for the procurement and disposal of information and communication (ICT) equipment.
The specific purpose of the survey was to identify examples of good practice and use the data to create useful good practice guides on the environmentally sound management of ICT equipment.
The survey revealed a strong willingness from government agencies to improve their current practice and a need for clearer guidance. The Ministry has chosen to provide the good practice guidance for all types of organisations, including business.
