Discussion document for the development of a National Groundwater Data Centre in New Zealand

This discussion document assesses the extent and integrity of groundwater quality monitoring programmes operated by regional authorities in New Zealand, outline potential advantages and issues related to development of a collaborative National Groundwater Data Centre (NGDC) based on data collected by regional authorities, evaluate the suitability of using the groundwater database (termed GGW) operated by GNS as the core for storage and presentation of the NGDC, and generate discussion related to the above.
