Survey of Regional Council River Water Quality Monitoring Programmes

This report sets out the results of a project designed to identify the core set of physical /chemical parameters that are currently being monitored by regional councils, and to gain further knowledge of regional council river water quality monitoring programmes. It is part of an on-going work programme that began in 1997 when the Ministry for the Environment, after extensive consultation, developed a core set of Environmental Performance Indicators (EPI) for freshwater quality.
