This figure shows water use as percentage of allocation for the three high demand catchments of Ngakaroa, Whangamaire and Hingaia-Maketu. Annual use ranged from 20% up to 50% of allocation over the three year period 2003 to 2005. The percent used was the highest in 2003, dropped in 2004 and increased in 2005 for all three catchments.
