As part of its National Environmental Reporting Programme, the Ministry for the Environment regularly reports on the quality of New Zealand's fresh water. These factsheets present the key findings of recent reports published by the Ministry on water quality trends, periphyton (algae) and fish communities in rivers and recreational water quality in rivers and lakes.
