North Island lakes colour-coded according to Trophic Level Status. Most notable feature is that lakes with lower TLI (1-4) tend to be the inland, larger lakes (Rotorua Lakes and Lake Taupo) while a higher proportion of lakes in the Waikato Basin and Northland have higher TLI values. See TLI values in Appendix 2.
