The toxicity guidelines in Table C1 have been derived on the basis of ADI values for the substances listed. In accordance with section 4.2.1, the substances that have an ADI of ≤ 0.02 mg/kg/day or are carcinogenic are high-concern contaminants. Substances with an ADI between 0.02 and 0.2 mg/kg/day are medium-concern contaminants, and substances with an ADI greater than 0.2 mg/kg/day are low-concern contaminants.
