Text description of figure
This figure illustrated a ten year running average of rainfall from 1990 until 2006 for Whangarei, Auckland, New Plymouth, Napier, Wellington, Hokitika, Blenheim, Lincoln, Invercargill and the Chatham Islands. Rainfall measured at Hokitika (at close to 3000 mm) is almost twice the rainfall for the other sites. There is no clear trend in the rainfall data for any of the site suggesting that expected changes in annual rainfall are not yet discernable in the trend data.
