  • 480,250 hectares from within Gisborne
  • 18,100 hectares imported from other regions within New Zealand
  • 19,710 hectares imported from other nations.

Household consumption in Gisborne (the ecological footprint) has embodied land of:

  • 119,300 hectares from Intermediate Demand
  • 6,140 hectares from within Gisborne
  • 1,330 hectares imported from other regions within New Zealand
  • 14,890 hectares imported from other nations.

Gisborne is exporting:

  • 112,050 hectares of embodied land to other regions within New Zealand
  • 266,710 hectares of embodied land to other nations.
