Text description of figure

In the New Zealand economy, household consumption (the ecological footprint) has embodied land of:

  • 9,835,520 hectares from Intermediate Demand (consisting of 18,864,850 hectares from within New Zealand and 2,061,040 hectares imported from other nations)
  • 616,370 hectares directly from within New Zealand
  • 1,232,760 hectares directly imported from other nations.

New Zealand is exporting 11,090,370 hectares of embodied land to other nations.
