Management methods
Regulatory and non-regulatory methods for managing urban amenity each have particular uses and limitations. Councils used different methods for various purposes.
Assessment matrix
Palmerston North City Council created an Assessment matrix that identified how well the District Plan, Design Guidelines, and CBD Revitalisation Strategy matched the community’s priorities for urban amenity. The Council used an adapted list of qualities to identify what those priorities were.
