Summary of submissions: Building Competitive Cities
Hill Young Cooper, Ref. CR 114
This page contains a summary of the 284 submissions received on options contained in the discussion document Building Competitive Cities: Reform of the urban and infrastructure planning system.
Public submissions on options contained in this discussion document were sought between October and December 2010 as part of the Government’s programme to reform resource management in New Zealand that began in 2008.
Cabinet has considered a report on progress on the reforms package and the broad direction of travel, and directed the Ministry for the Environment to continue work on proposals. Decisions will be made in 2011 on proposals for a national policy statement to give greater recognition to the urban environment, including urban design and housing affordability. Further policy recommendations will follow in 2012.
