Resource Management Act: Two-yearly Survey of Local Authorities 2010/2011
This report is the tenth in a series that examines local authority implementation of the Resource Management Act (RMA). This report covers activity from 1 July 2010 to 30 June 2011. It compares findings from this period to past surveys to highlight any long-term trends. All 78 local authorities participated in this survey.
New developments since the last survey include:
- the enactment of the Resource Management (Simplifying and Streamlining) Amendment Act 2009
- the establishment of the Environmental Protection Authority
- the unification of councils in the Auckland Region
- the change in Environment Canterbury’s governance
- the Canterbury earthquakes.
