5. Next steps

The next steps towards improving performance in areas such as nutrient management and resource consent compliance will be to:

  • work with farmers to develop better understanding of their regulatory obligations in order to achieve higher compliance levels

  • undertake a review of Accord progress and assess opportunities for leveraging off initiatives proposed under the Dairy Industry Strategy for Sustainable Environmental Management

  • collaborate on publishing the baseline report for measuring the effectiveness of Accord actions.
