Appendix 1: Dendrograms

Figure A1.1: Dendrogram of the EEZ classification showing how the classes are progressively amalgamated from 2 to 20 classes

A dendogram or tree structure showing the order in which clusters are joined in the MEC classification of the EEZ by determining environmental distance between classes. Branches or nodes occur at a pre-determined 'cut levels' which equate to a certain amount of distance.

Figure A1.2: Dendrogram of the Hauraki Gulf classification showing how the classes are progressively amalgamated from 2 to 20 classes

A dendogram or tree structure showing the order in which clusters are joined in the MEC classification of the Hauraki Gulf by determining environmental distance between classes. Branches or nodes occur at a pre-determined 'cut levels' which equate to a certain amount of distance.
