The rating of a heater is based on four factors:
- the household’s heating priorities
- local availability and cost of energy/fuels
- attributes of heater
- heating energy requirements.
Heating energy requirements in turn are based on the physical characteristics of the dwelling and the heating behaviour in dwelling.
