The emissions of SOx per kilogram of fuel, in grams are: 0.2 for an open fire, 0.2 for a wood burner (best), 0.2 for a wood burner (worst), 0.2 for a multi-fuel burner using wood, 5.1 for an open coal fire, 1.1 for an enclosed coal burner, 0 for flued gas, 0 for unflued gas, 0.2 for a wood pellet burner, 4 for a diesel burner and 4 for diesel central heating.
