This is a bar graph showing NOx emissions according to different heating appliances. The emissions of NOx per kilogram of fuel, in grams are: 1.4 for an open fire, 0.4 for a wood burner (best), 1 for a wood burner (worst), 1 for a multi-fuel burner using wood, 4.1 for an open coal fire, 1.7 for an enclosed coal burner, 1.6 for flued gas, 1.6 for unflued gas, 5.2 for a wood pellet burner, 2 for a diesel burner and 2 for diesel central heating.
