Chart 3 shows a pie chart with the breakdown of emissions by each source. Emissions in 2004 totalled 74.6 million tonnes carbon dioxide equivalent and broke down by sector in the following way:
- waste – 2.5 percent
- agriculture –49.4 percent
- solvents and other products – less than 0.1 percent
- industrial process – 5.6 percent
- energy (including transport) – 42.4 percent
