This figure shows the current maximum temperature by city for the North and South Islands of New Zealand, calculated as the mid-summer daily average. Maximum temperatures range from 24.4°C in Kaitaia on the northern end of the North Island to 18.7°C in Invercargill on the southern end of the South Island.
