Question 1. Will you be receiving the emission reduction units on the primary market?
No – Not eligible for a letter of approval
Yes – Go to question 2.

Question 2. Are you a qualified person to open a holding account in the New Zealand Emission Unit Register?
No – Not eligible for a letter of approval
Yes – Go to question 3.

Question 3. Is your project in the nuclear power sector?
No – Go to question 4.
Yes – Not eligible for a letter of approval

Question 4. Has the project got host party approval?
No – Not eligible for a letter of approval
Yes – Go to question 5.

Question 5. Is a project design document or similar project description available?
No – Not eligible for a letter of approval
Yes – Submit your application to the New Zealand designated focal point and go to question 6.

Question 6. Is the application complete?
No – Respond promptly to requests for further information
Yes – Letter of approval application processed.  If approval granted and depending on host party procedures, submit letter of approval to host party designated focal point.
