This figure shows lines of constant percentage changes in the Whenuapai, Auckland 95 percentile winter daily rainfall amount as functions of changes in the parameters of a gamma distribution. Along the x-axis is the shape parameter (alpha) and along the y-axis is the scale parameter (beta). A shaded box in the figure indicates the range of changes in alpha and beta, of -10 to 0 percent and 0 to 40 percent respectively, expected by 2100 for the New Zealand region as suggested by Semenov and Bengtsson (2002).
