Location of 58 temperature stations (left panel) and 92 rainfall stations (right panel) spaced across New Zealand used in downscaling. For temperature there are 34 sites in the North Island, and 24 sites in the South Island. For rainfall the number of sites are 50 in the North Island and 42 in the South Island. Many of the sites are located in populated areas, such as towns and cities. Regional council boundaries are also indicated.
