The figures chart the number reduced premature morality by the differing achievement dates as compared to the status quo option.

The 2008 achievement target date begins to reduce premature mortality in 2006. The cumulative number grows steadily until by 2020 over 1000 premature deaths have been prevented.

The 2013 target date begins to have an effect in 2009, and by 2020 about 600 premature deaths have been prevented.

The 2020 target date begins to have an effect in 2016, and by 2020 about 150 lives premature deaths have been prevented."
