Until 9am on the 9 July the low temperature at 10 metres was approximately 1°C higher than the temperature at 1.5 metres. As the temperatures rose during the day the 1.5 metre temperature rose faster than that of 10 metres. As the day cooled from 5pm the 1.5 metre temperature fell more quickly than the 10 metre and remained about 1°C cooler overnight. A similar trend occurred for the remainder of the 10 July.
